I found dead wood! I found dead wood! We're gonna have a fire! SWERVE... a few minutes later the bug was packed with kindling, a few small logs and three happier girls!
Mrs. Vasquez is super competitive- here she is trying to get me to lose my Jon + Helen clothespins by telling me that I must profess my true love. She is so cute! She won, by the way!
This is Abby Morton-Garland, my pastor's wife =) She is a TFAer married to John Garland (see my posts from last year) She and John just got married last summer and she has been nothing but encouraging and supportive of me throughout my time of engagement. She is an amazing person and a true inspiration! Yay Abby!
Cara gets the award for travelling the furthest to the shower! She had to drive over an hour and she did! How totally loving. She is a wonderful woman who will be staying a third year to serve up science in the RGC. Isn't her hair adorable- right after the wedding, that will be the look that I am going for!
Judges Mrs. Gomez & Mrs. Vasquez selected this gown modeled by the stylish Ms. Ashley and designed by "The Bridezilla's" including Lori, Meagan & Abbey!
These are the folks at Kennedy who attended the shower. My wonderful principal, Mary Alice Gonzalez was there as well. From left to right: Mari, Barb, Lotus, Sonya, Diana Gomez, Kristine, Helen, Elida Elizondo, Becky, Mari
Wow- I feel so loved. Can you feel the love tonight? Wow, Wow, Wow!Yesterday my dear friends Zahra and Lotus threw me the most perfect, most spectacular shower. Every detail was thought of and catered to in an amazing way. They made incredible food, made all the guests feel welcomed, decorated in pink and green and created the cutest favors and clothespins I think have ever seen. I am so blessed to have people in my life who would give so unselfishly to honor me and Jon's marriage. The women who came were incredible. They were generous, flexible and fun. We ended up having to move picnic shelters because of a schedule confusion and everybody was cool, calm and collected. My biggest prayer for this day was that I would be able to be fully present with everyone and really make people see the love that I have for them. I think I was able, with God's help, to do it! It was awesome! The time flew, but each moment felt like a savory sweet. (Especially while eating the AMAZING homemade cake decorated with all of my favorite fruits!)It was an undescrible feeling and I was so completely blessed. I must mention that a lot of ladies helped Z & L make it such as success. Ashley made a super cute sign, Priya hauled chairs and made punch and Lori did all sorts of little things that added up to just be huge. Meagan was the D.J. and everyone in attendance pitched in when moving was required. Thank you everyone! This is a day that I will not forget!
